DIY Polaroids

DIY Polaroids

Hey guys!

So a few weeks ago I was reading Sophie Maie’s post called DIY Polaroids For 10 Cents. And I loved the idea so I made my own version but a bit different!

I was in love with the idea of making my own Polaroids and I’ve wanted a Polaroid Camera for a while but the thing that stopped me from getting one was that you can’t print photos from other devices. And, I know, you can buy them online but it’s much easier making them yourself!

DIY:

Okay, I have to say this took me a while to get right but I’ve found a good way to do it. Also, unfortunately, I’m using a Mac and I don’t know if it works with other computers.

But the first thing I did was open Canva (you may have heard me talk about it in other posts).

As I wanted mine to be quite small, I made a custom file which is half the size of a page in Pages. (I hope this makes sense XD.) You can find it here. (I’m not sure but I think you need to have a Canva account but don’t worry it’s free!*) *

*I don’t think you can use it like that but just make the same layout (I put a photo of the measurements).

Here, I added a photo grid so that you can upload a photo and it has the right dimensions. (Again, I hope that makes sense.)

You can also adjust the shape as you want.

Then I uploaded the photos I wanted to print and saved them. I put them in my Pages document and turned them horizontally so that you can put two “Polaroids” on one page. I also added a small border to make it easier to cut out.

I used 10×15 cm photo paper (which is approximately 4×6 inches) and the borderless option (then you don’t have to cut the edges off). Screen Shot 2017 06 11 at 19.35.02 - DIY Polaroids

If you haven’t got 10×15 cm photo paper then I would suggest trying it out with other dimensions (and obviously changing the settings before printing) but I’m not sure if it works.

And then I just cut the middle and that’s it!

I really hope it works for you if you try it (and tell me if you do!).

Thanks for reading!

XOXO, Rosie<3
