Yep…It’s already december…can someone please tell me where time goes because November went BY WAY TOO FAST!
Also, side note to the people that don’t celebrate this holiday, I’m so sorry that my posts are going to be festive this month, I hope you don’t mind too much, again sorry. I still hope you have an amazing new year and start of 2018 (yep, it’s almost 2018…..) ❤️
On the bright side, I can finally insert this GIF in a post and you don’t know how happy it makes me…I couldn’t wait for a second longer, even though, technically it’s not Christmas yet…
Now that that’s sorted I can proceed with ze post.
This is a collab with the amazing Daisychaindreaming! We thought we could both write a post about how to decorate your blog for Christmas! Go check out her blog, it’s really really good and her writing is wonderful as well!!! (She’s posting her tomorrow!)
It’s important to have a nice header (or logo) and I really like mixing it up for every season! I try to make the drawings myself but I do tend to copy other artists. I’m not a very good drawer and definitely not on the computer! I do, however, always give credit to the original artist! Art theft is, unfortunately, a common thing and I don’t particularly want to be part of that!
I tried to draw a few things myself but quickly noticed that I’m not very good! XD So off to Pinterest I went. It took a while but I eventually found AH-MAZING art drawn by really REALLY talented artists!!!
This season I decided to make a simple header with only colours and a festive quote underneath (which to be honest makes it so much easier because finding the original artist is really difficult sometimes!!)
“A plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that can be added to a WordPress website. They can extend functionality or add new features to your WordPress websites.”
I really like plugins as their purpose is to make a website better. There are millions of different ones but today I’m only talking about one; Weather Effect. I discovered this plugin a few months ago by accident and was really curious so I decided to try it out. Initially, I only wanted it for winter so I could get the snow effect (which actually come with the Jetpack plugin but I forgot that). But whilst experimenting a bit, I found that there effects for all seasons! I started trying them out and found really lovely ones, like leaves for autumn, candy canes for Christmas, etc…
I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to make their blog a bit more festive! There are SOOOO many options and I think everyone can find one they like!
To make everything a bit more festive, I added dark red and green to my blog (like everything I could change, I did.)
I used the colours #a81c23 (red) and #00721c (green).
There ya go!! I hope you enjoyed the first day of Blogmas!
Goodbye and until next time!!
XOXO, Rosie 🎄
