Blogmas│2016

Blogmas│2016

So as you can see this is my first blogmas! (yay!) If you don’t know what that is, basically you write a post every day till christmas🎄 I am going to give it a little twist. So instead of writing 24 different posts I am going to write 1 post that I’m going to update every day. So I suggest that you read it every day because it is going to be a really LONG post! Now, I have been debating if I should do 24 posts, 12 posts or  one post. (Some of you may know about it because I have been ranting about it for days !) So please just stick with me because I literally have been overthinking it too much! (I even wrote all the possibilities in my math class!) Hope you still enjoy it!

Here is the table of contents, click on one of the links to go to the specific day.

Day 1🎄:

So today, I am going to write my christmas list! (The posts won’t all be so lame, don’t worry) But I still want to start traditionally.

  1. The Nikon Coolpix A900 (It is going to be my first real camera so I’m not going too expensive. But it still has 20.3 Mp and 35x zoom. I find for a camera it’s good.
  2. Fox Kigurumi, I have been in love with onesies lately and my uncle (who is coming back from America ) asked me what I wanted for christmas. So, obviously, I took advantage that he’s in America to get something that is hard to find in other places. I saw this onesie in “Kigurumi Shop” and fell in love with it!
  3. Some new makeup. I am not a makeup fan or anything but I still like it sometimes. And I definitely want to try the Zoella beauty line. (yes, I haven’t tried it yet, I’m sorry. But it’s on my list now!)
  4. Shopping. My mum always says that I have lots of clothes (I don’t think I have too many but I’m definitely grateful for everything I have!) But you know a few more wouldn’t hurt! (Right?) Yes, I love clothes and shopping, which my mum doesn’t like so much, but apparently she likes to go shopping with me. (I know that she will be reading this so, Hi Mum! Thanks for going shopping with me!)

Hope you stick with me for all 24 posts!🎄

Day 2🎄:

I find that there are so many good quotes about christmas time. For example in films, books, etc….And I couldn’t resist making my own list of my Top favourite christmas quotes. So here they are!

“The smells of Christmas are the smells of childhood”
– Richard Paul Evans, The Christmas Box

“One can never have enough socks,” said Dumbledore. “Another Christmas has come and gone and I didn’t get a single pair. People will insist on giving me books.”
– J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

“Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before! What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
– Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

“I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”
– Charles Dickens

“Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas-time.”
-Laura Ingalls Wilder

Day 3🎄:

My handy-dandy blogmas list said that on day three I am going to do My top Christmas youtube videos. So here they are! ( I am putting the links to the videos and if there is an error, please tell me and I will edit the link.)

1. Christmas Eve Special with Joe | Zoella

This has to be one of my favourite videos of all time! There are many reasons for this but mostly because it’s Zoella (I mean everything about Zoella is great!) Secondly, because Joe is in the video! (makes everything better!) and thirdly because it’s Christmas related (I think that’s self explanatory)

2. The Suggs Christmas Past | Zoella

I think I have watched this video 6 times now! I watch it over and over again! Even my brother watched it (probably only because Joe is in it) It’s by far the funniest video of Zoella but that’s only my opinion)

3. Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven, Christmas Edition

This is one of the christmas videos of Studio C. All their skits are great but I really like this one. There are many more skits that they make and I love this channel so much! Definitely check their other videos out!

4. Harry Potter Christmas Decor // DIY

I actually found this video by accident but me as a Harry Potter fan, I love these DIYs ! It’s really nice and the crafts are really easy to make.

5. Gingerbread Cupcakes | Zoella

I really want to try this recipe out but haven’t yet had the chance. It looks really good and my mouth was watering so badly when I watched the video.

And there you go! This was my top five list! (yes, I know 3 of them are from Zoe, I’m sorry!)

Day 4🎄:

Hey guys! So we are already on day 4! Can someone please tell me, HOW is it possible for time to fly by so fast?! Anyway, today, I am going to do Hardest and easiest person to shop for. Hope you enjoy!

So, personally, the hardest people to shop for, are my parents. How am I suppose to know what they want for christmas? If I ask them, then it’s not a surprise anymore! Ok, in the old days, it used to be easy, because we made presents in school. Now, on the other hand, we don’t do that anymore, so I have to come up with something else…I know I still have 20 days….but I already know this is going to be hard! And that’s why I am going to write Presents ideas for parents! (I’ll post it on the 10th of December.)

And the easiest person to shop for, in my opinion, is my brother… *Nervous laugh* well, when I do shop for him….I don’t get him something every year…But when I do, it’s easy! He loves football and, I mean, how many things can you find related to football!

Sorry this was kind of a shorter post but they can’t all be long. (This is only day 4 and there are already over a thousand words!

Day 5🎄:

Hello my christmas elves! 🎅🏻

19 days till christmas yayyyyy!!

Enough rambling, today I am writing (if someone is still reading) My favourite christmas songs!

  1. Deck the Halls: I know this is a classic but I have been singing this since October! ’tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la la la (Okay I will stop singing…or writing?)
  2. Joy to The World: Now this one I love the tune, but, seriously, I don’t know the lyrics….
  3.  Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy – The Nutcracker: I love this tune, I could, literally, dance to this all night long. I used to (and still do) love the film! (Am I the only one that watched the Barbie version?)
  4. Jingle Bells: I couldn’t leave this song out! It’s a classic! Personally, I don’t like the song too much but I still put it in, ’cause I mean what’s christmas without Jingle Bells!
  5. Santa Claus is coming to Town by Michael Bublé: Like Jingle Bells, this is a classic! So yeah, let’s just skip the part that I am internally dancing away….(*awkward pause*)
  6. Any other songs by Michael Bublé! i couldn’t put all of them in because this list would be way to long! So I’m going to stop at 6. Why 6? I don’t know…

So those were my favourite songs!

Day 6🎄:

Haylo🌾 my christmas elves!🎅🏻 (Omg that pun was terrible…)

Also, warning I am in a good mood so this post could be a bit…cringy?

So (drum-rolls please…..) today I am doing My holiday bucket list! (so exciting isn’t it?)

Hope you enjoy!

For this holiday I have a few goals, yes I know, my holidays only start on the 23rd,  but at least then I will have 2 weeks free! (stay positive Rosie, stay positive…) So today I’m planning some of the goals that I have set myself.

One of my goals is to go and take many photos at lots of places after Christmas Day. At Christmas my whole family get together in my grandmother’s house. Because my family live all around the world and this house is the biggest one, we all spend Christmas there. Next to the house there is a lovely park and a bit further away there is a big forest. So as you can imagine the photo opportunities are endless!

Another goal (which has nothing to do with Christmas or the holidays) is to get my english grades back up again. A few weeks ago I got an important english test back and I failed it quite badly….I got like 40% which is not enough (obviously).

Okay I’m getting side-tracked, I should focus on holiday goals. A goal that I think is really important is to eat lots of Christmas treats !! (It’s really important to me, so yeah…🍬) But I’m serious, Christmas treats are THE BEST!! (mmhh…candy canes, christmas pudding, turkish delight….my mouth is watering so badly right now)

Anyway that was my bucket list. All my apologies that this wasn’t a serious post.😃

Day 7🎄:

Hello my christmas elves!🎅🏻

Today I am going to write about when do you open presents?  I find that everyone does it differently so I am going to write my version!

When I was younger we used to alternate the Christmas traditions. My Mum always did the german tradition but my Dad the english one. But for the past few christmases we always spent Christmas with my Mum’s family we do the german version now. Basically we open presents in the evening of Christmas Eve.

So on Christmas eve, all the children (which means my cousins, brother and I) have to go upstairs. Normally an adult also goes up to make sure we don’t come out. In the mean time “Father Christmas” puts all the presents under the tree. When he has finished, he rings a bell and leaves. I thought I saw him once (I was 4) Then we run into the living room where you can see our Christmas tree with all the candles and lights. It’s truly a magical moment! Before we open our presents we all sing or I play the flute. ( It’s cruel to do it in front of the presents because you can see them but you are n0t allowed to open them yet!) And then we open the presents. On Christmas Day, we all go to Church for the Christmas service and then come home to Christmas lunch. I really love Christmas!

So that is how I celebrate Christmas !🎄

Day 8 + 9🎄:

Hey guys!

I decided to write days 8 and 9 in one post because I will not have time to do it tomorrow, and this is going to be a long post. Anyway, today I am writing My autumn routine: (on a school day)

[6:30 am] So my day starts when I have to get up at 6:30 am. I usually go to the sofa for 10 minutes because I am definitely the absolute opposite of a morning person!

At 6:40 am I have breakfast which usually takes 10 minutes. Then I start to get ready. I put my clothes on, do my hair, etc.

I don’t really put much makeup on. I put my moisturising cream on and put my anti blemish matte cream, because I have the shiniest nose! I can literally see my reflection in my nose! Then I put my BB cream from The Body Shop. I sometimes put some mascara on but I usually don’t because I have really sensitive skin and my skin wouldn’t bear it if I put every day a ton of makeup on. (Obviously I do put makeup on for special occasions but when it’s only to go to school it’s not really worth it. Especially in the stage of your life when you have the most spots!)

Then I start fumbling around with my hair. I usually leave it down but I like to do beach waves occasionally (I have really straight hair). I also often do a messy bun or a high ponytail. Occasionally I put my hair into a braid.

[7:10 am] By now I have usually finished in the bathroom so I go to my room and quickly look at my latest text messages.

[7:15 am] I usually put on my coat and shoes now. At 7:20 I meet my neighbour to walk to the bus together. The bus arrives around 7:28. Then I go to school.

[7:40 am] I start school at 7:40.

[11:25 or 12:15 pm] My lunch break varies. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays my lunch break starts at 11:25 am. But on Tuesdays and Fridays it starts at 12:15 pm.

[3:05 pm] We finish school at 3:05 and then I take to the bus back home.

I would like to say that I start my homework at that time but that would be a lie. I am usually on my phone or reading a book.

At 4 pm I take a snack and go back to what I was doing.

I usually start my homework by 4:30 pm. At 5:30 I practise my flute (ehm…well when I do play…I have to admit I don’t play hours or every day.)

I normally also go out with my friends but that depends how much homework I have or if I need to revise for tests, etc…

My family and I usually eat dinner at 19:30. At 20:00 I take my shower.

After my shower I put cream on my body and dry my hair.

[9:30 pm – 22:00] I usually go to bed but it can change. I have flute rehearsal on Tuesdays in the evening so I normally go to bed bit later.

That was my autumn routine (it doesn’t really change with other times of the year)

I hope you enjoyed ! xx

Day 10🎄:

Hello world of the internet!

As I have already said today I am doing Present ideas for parents. (The presents are approved by my Dad😄)

Hope you enjoy!

So the first idea is that you craft something. There are many Christmas DIYs surfing on the internet (I will also do some on day 18). Parents always like handmade presents because they came from you! I prefer making decorations, for example, Christmas tree ornaments. But household crafts are also really good like wooden spoons with a Christmas pattern on it. In my school we used to make a wooden cutting board with a pattern on it and my parents still use it.

Another idea I think would be great is a photo album. You could go online and create one but you can also just print out nice family photos, cut them out, and glue them in a clear drawing book. (drawing book? I’m not quite sure how to call it but I mean those books with blank pages on them.)

Something that my brother and I often do as a present is a “coupon.” Basically we cut out a piece of paper, write what the coupon is for and decorate it. Then we add in 10 little stickers/stamps and put it in an envelope. The coupon could be for coffee or tea or free breakfast. Now every time they want what you wrote on the coupon you make it and in exchange they give you one of the stamps. It could also be something bigger to make it more special. Personally my parents love them because it has a use and not just something that lies around the house and becomes dusty.

So, those were 3 gift ideas. I could write a lot more but the post is starting to become really long and I am not going in depth in any posts. I will probably also make separate christmas posts that are not for blogmas. xx

Day 11🎄:

Hello my Christmas elves!🎅🏻

So today I am doing Favourite past Christmas presents !

This is actually a really hard question… I had to think A LOT about this. But I have to say it was 5 -6 years ago. It was at my great grandmothers house with all my family. That Christmas I got a barbie doll and a horse to go with it. I remember I was so excited to get it I was bouncing of the walls! It sounds childish but I have to say that was my favourite past Christmas present because I remember it gave me so much joy.

Sorry this was a short post but that was it !

(Ps I finished the Girl Online book! It was AMAZING!!!!! Penny has motivated me even more to work on photography!)

Day 12🎄:

Hey everyone!🎉

Today I am writing Craft ideas for kids. Hope you enjoy!

1. Christmas cookieschristmas-cookie-cutters

The first idea is Christmas cookies! 🍪 Just roll out a tube of premade sugar-cookie dough (or make your own), cut out shapes (you can use Christmas cookie cutters), then bake. When cooled, decorate.
If you don’t have any frosting, just use Nutella, or make your own frosting. For the frosting, use icing sugar, lemon juice or water, and some food colouring. For the final touches you can add sprinkles or other decorations.

2Make a snow glob

cf818d814068385c4ba9e7afa97a05a3

You will need: a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, a plastic figurine, waterproof glue, distilled water, liquid glycerin (available at crafts stores) and glitter.

Pick out the figurine, then glue it inside the lid and let the glue dry. Fill the jar with water and a bit of glycerin, then add the glitter. Shake the jar and you are done! They are also perfect stocking fillers!

3. DIY Christmas cards

This is pretty easy but it’s still nice to get a handmade Christmas card! You will need: blank cards, Christmas stamps, stickers, markers, ribbon, envelopes and anything else you can use for a card. Now it’s time to be creative! For family and friends, it’s always nice to get a customised card!

And that was it !

Day 13🎄:

screen-shot-2016-12-12-at-18-34-20Ok, so this isn’t Christmas related but to be perfectly honest, I am running out of post ideas, so this will be the one for today. (Also I am posting this in two separate posts. One being Blogmas and the other one just as a separate post. Yes, I know I’m a bit complicated 😆)

I went on my computer a few hours ago and found that I have 50 followers! I really want to thank every single one of you!

When I started this blog I was doing it simply to try it out. I never thought that I would continue or even get people reading what I write. In school I never liked writing and never though about creating a blog. Then one day a friend of my Dad gave me the first Girl Online book and I remember saying “Wait, I think I know Zoella, she’s a youtuber!” But I had never watched her. I started reading the book and in 1 day I had finished it. I was hooked; I loved the book so much! A few weeks later I saw the book again and though “I’m going to search Zoella on youtube and watch one of her videos.” The second I clicked on one of her videos I knew I would continue watching them. Months past by and I started to really love her channel! I was begging my parents to get Girl Online: On Tour, and I finally got it . I was so excited! After the second book I really wanted to create a blog like Penny’s. So I asked my parents and they were ok with it. My Dad, who knows a lot about computers, helped me set it up. And here we are! A few moths later at 50 followers! I am SO grateful to have had the opportunity to do this !

I have also made great friends since starting this blog. I especially want to thank Lui❤️. She has been reading my blog since the beginning and has been great support. She is so kind and has so much talent! Her blog is just P. E. R. F. E. C. T. ! I really enjoy reading it and am really proud to call her a friend!

But I also really want to thank all of you guys! As I have already said, without you, this wouldn’t have been possible!

Thank you so much!

Rosie XXXX ❤️(I know lot’s of “X”😄)

Day 14 🎄:

Hey guys!

Today I will be doing a real Christmas post again! Because yesterday wasn’t really Christmassy. So I will be doing Christmas game ideas!

  1. Make a gingerbread house
  2. Christmas Bingo
  3.  The Mini-Van Express Ticket
  4. Watch lots of Christmas movies (I am definitely doing this!)
  5. Christmas Eve hot chocolate and Christmas stories.
  6. Sibling sleepover on Christmas Eve (also doing this one!)
  7. Watch your favourite youtuber doing Vlogmas!
  8. Read a classic Christmas story (I have to do this!!!)
  9. Ugly Sweater Contest
  10. Name that Carol
  11. The ABCs of Christmas (so basically you have to find a festive word for each letter of the alphabet. The first one to find a word for each letter wins.)
  12. Who Am I? Christmas Edition
  13. Two Truths and a Lie (Christmas version)

And that was it! I hope you try out some of my ideas!

Day 15 🎄:

Hellooooooo my Christmas elves! 🎅🏻

So today I am writing Write your own letter to Santa!  (I used to do this!! It was a fun thing to write and brings back lovely memories!)

Dear Father Christmas,

For Christmas 2016, I don’t want many presents. In fact I really only want one. Obviously that is my camera. Also I hope that as many people as possible can celebrate Christmas this year. And bring lots of joy to children’s faces all around the world!

I also hope that there is snow this year! (especially for photographic reasons ! )

Love,

Rosie xx

Day 16 🎄:

Also sorry that I have done many lists but it’s time consuming writing everyday plus the normal posts. Hope you still enjoy the lists! xx

Day 17 🎄:

Hohoho!

Firstly, I want to say sorry that this post is going up today. I had a Christmas party yesterday evening and when I came home I was so tired! I didn’t even look at my messages (and that means I’m really tired because I normally always do it!).

Anyway, what I was going to do on the seventeenth was to write 25 Blogmas post ideas (I know this doesn’t help now but for next year perhaps!), so I’ll do it now.

  1. Unique Christmas gift guides
  2. Favourite festive recipes
  3. Christmas game ideas for the family

  21. The best Christmas present you ever received
  22. Last-minute gift ideas
  23. Your Christmas routine
  24. Favourite Christmas youtube videos
  25. Gift ideas for parents

There are a lot more posts you can do but these are just a few ideas!

Day 18 🎄:

Hey guys!

This is going to be a short post because I haven’t much to say. I am going to do Festive photos tips & tricks. (I am definitely not an expert but I am just sharing the tips that I use when taking festive photos.)

So the tips I think might be useful are:

1. Try taking photos around your Christmas decorations or tree. I prefer if it’s more of a gloomy look. So if you have fairy lights on your tree for example, turn the room lights off, which will make the tree look even brighter and magical.

2. If you haven’t got your tree yet (like me), try adding items that are green and red. It will give the photo a festive look.

img_0421

(credits to my Dad who took this photo❄️)

3. Also try using an image of a Christmas quote or character in your photo. It gives a nice festive touch to it.

4. If you like makeup, you can put festive makeup products in the photos. It will have a personal touch to it and makes it more Christmassy.

5. If it’s snowing where you live, take photos of the snow. Every time I see a photo of snow I always think of Christmas !

So that was today’s post! Hope it helped a bit!

Day 19 + 20🎄:

Hello my Christmas elves!

Today I am doing The Christmas Tag with Floral Eden❤️Definitely check out her blog! She is amazing!

Also I will do this for day 19 and 20 because I have a flute concert on the twentieth .

1. What is your favorite Christmas film?

Hmmmm… I think I have to say Home Alone. But I have so many I couldn’t really decide but this is one of them!

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?

Yes I have! It was about 4 years ago (I think?)

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?

With my family in Germany.

4. What is your favorite Christmas song?

Jeez…..I don’t know….perhaps Deck The Halls.

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Yes actually I do! My family and I do the German tradition where we open out presents on Christmas Eve.

 6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

I’ll do it without cheating so; Rudolph, Dasher, Donner, Prancer, Vixen…..ehh no I can’t…

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

Eating Christmas dinner!

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Real

9. What is your all-time favorite holiday food/sweet treat?

Christmas pudding! 🍮 (yes I know the emoji is custard but I mean it’s the closest I can get to Christmas pudding.)

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

Okay as every year, I make crafts for my family and I like their reactions when they open them but I like receiving presents too……

11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

I already answered this question in my Q&A but I have to say a Barbie I got a few years ago.

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

Probably Germany where I am going anyway. I really like going there and it is one of my favourite places to celebrate Christmas!

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

Neither. I can wrap presents but I am not a pro.

14. Most memorable Holiday moment?

I have a lot of lovely Christmas memories so I can’t really choose one.

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?

Well when I was like five. I asked my Dad if Santa was real or not. And being my Dad he didn’t like lying so he asked if I was sure that I wanted to know. I answered yes thinking he would say he exists. He told me the truth. Which kind of ruined my Christmas that year but I definitely still believe in the magic of Christmas. Even if he isn’t a person who climbs down my chimney, he is still in my heart. (This sounds kind of cheesy doesn’t it?)

16. Do you make New Year resolutions? Do you stick to them?

Yes I do in my head. I forget them three seconds later and never do them.

17. What makes the holidays special for you?

Too excited for the festive season me:

Firstly we don’t have school.

Secondly it’s the best time of the year (because there is snow!!!!)

Thirdly the food is AMAZING at Christmas!!

And fourthly we get presents! (How can it become even better!?)

Normal me:

Because my whole family is together and because there is snow!

And that was my Christmas Tag! I hope you enjoyed !

Day 21 🎄:

Hey guys!

Today I am writing Why do I like Christmas?

So I have a few reasons I like the festive season. But mainly because it’s one of the only times of the year where my whole family are in one house. We bake cookies, talk and have fun spending time with each other.

I also really like Christmas because of the snow. As I have said before I love skiing and it’s (obviously) the perfect time to go skiing.

The atmosphere is also one of my favourite things about Christmas. The warm thick air in the house is so comforting.

The list could continue forever but I’m going to stop it here because I still have lots of other posts to write before I leave.

Day 22 🎄:

Hey guys!

So this is a bit of a different post. I am not writing a Christmas post because I am watching a Christmas movie. (It’s great but a bit weird.)

But I just wanted to say that I am going away tomorrow for Christmas and I won’t have any wifi so I’ll finish Blogmas when I come back. I’ll try to use the timer for the Christmas post. (let’s pray it works)

Sorry this wasn’t a real post but this film is to good (no just kidding it’s just I don’t have any ideas on what to write today. But the film is still good!)

Day 24 🎄:

Hello my Christmas Elves!

So, first of all I hope you are reading this because I put it on this scheduled thing and I’m in Germany on the 24th for Christmas but I’m not sure that it will post. I’m guessing that if you are reading this then the scheduled thing worked.

Anyway I want to say Merry Christmas! I hope you are all having a lovely day! Wherever you are in the world I hope you are enjoying yourselves even if you don’t celebrate Christmas!

Ok I have to admit, I have been googling things to write in this post, but I have no idea on what to say!

I haven’t done this before but I have an idea for a (late) Christmas post. I’ll think about it and tell you guys if I think it’s realistic.

Sorry I have to finish this post now but I’m using my uncle’s hotspot which I am not allowed to use to much whilst I’m in Germany because half my family is using it.

Again Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏻

XOXO, Rosie❤

(Ps – I’ll probably update the post when I get back home and tell you guys about my Christmas!)
