Guys, today is a VERY special day!
MY BLOG IS 1!!!!!
I seriously can’t believe that I’ve had it for ONE WHOLE YEAR! It’s been SO AMAZING and I’ve loved every moment of it!!!! (although I still don’t know where time has gone LIKE SERIOUSLY?!)
And I also really want to thank all of you guys! A few weeks ago I hit 300 followers and it blows my mind that 300 souls actually want to read my blog?! I really didn’t think that I would get over 100 followers or even over 200! I thought that it would just be a small corner for me and my thoughts (like a diary) and that’s it! But no apparently some people like the weird sarcastic soul that’s behind all of these posts *awkwardly laughs*
So now that I’m an expert at blogging *cough cough* I thought I would share a few things I’ve learnt!
It takes time!
So at first, I thought I would just have to hit the post button after writing one and that’s it!
BUUUUT, unfortunately, it takes a bit more time than that;
- You have to work on the design of your blog to make it into something you like and let me tell you, I’ve spent WAYYY too much time doing that!
- Finding good post ideas is not always easy!
- Finding the TIME to post whilst you’re working or at school isn’t easy!
- Posting regularly is DEFINITELY not easy!
My advice is if you want to start blogging it should be because YOU really want to do it because if it’s only to get people following you then it’s not worth it. It takes a lot of time and if you don’t like doing it, it’s really not worth it. Even for people that like writing it can get a bit hard sometimes, for example, when you haven’t posted in a while but have A HUGE writer’s block but you still want to write something!
Followers don’t come right away
Sorry to break your dreams but getting followers isn’t easy. Even if your posts are good, you won’t have 10’000 followers in the first month. You really have to work to get people to notice you!
Although I have found that a few things do help;
- Go on social media, like Instagram, and follow other bloggers.
- Interact with your followers and comment on other people’s posts!
- BE PATIENT! They will come over time!
The first year is the hardest!
Some people may disagree but I find that the first year is the hardest. Because everything is so new and you may not have found your writing style right away but the more you do it, the easier it gets! And obviously, because you have to start from 0! I don’t know yet but I’m thinking that my second year is going to be easier because I know how much time it takes and how I’m going to organize myself to find the time to write!
You have to plan in advance
As I already mentioned, planning your posts is key! I’m the kind of person that gets stressed over nothing and blogging sometimes is one of them! I don’t have a strict schedule of when to post but I normally post every 2-11 days (I’m so organized!).
If having a set schedule works for you then that’s great! But for me, it just doesn’t so I don’t do that anymore!
You meet amazing people
The difference between having a diary where you share your thoughts and having a blog is that you meet AMAZING people! People that share the same interests as you, people that make you smile even if you’ve never met them before, people that you can TALK too when life is getting hard! And I know the internet can be a dangerous place but as long as you’re careful, it can also be a wonderful place.
Aannnnnnnd that’s it! I hope you enjoyed this post!
Again thank you to all of you!
I want to thank my parents and friends for always supporting me! I love writing and this blog has made it possible for me to express myself and I’m so grateful for that!
And I want to thank all of you guys that have made me smile so many times and have made this experience the most amazing thing ever!
